Your stay in WDC

I was on a boat in Maldives, surfing around the North Male atoll, doing massage as exchanging to my trip, when I heard for the first time about the freedom and the adrenaline that kitesurfing can bring. Don’t get me wrong, I already knew how kitesurfing looks like, but since I was a kid, I always did windsurfing once in a while and I never really had the chance to focus on kiting.

In Maldives, 3 of the guests on the boat were passionate kitesurfers, you could see it from the sparkles in their eyes. When they offered me the opportunity to work for them in a brand-new resort in Dakhla, I didn’t hesitate one second, and here I’m, writing this article, in the front of la Dune Blanche, with the sound of the birds and the wind as background noise of my daily life.

I arrived here in February, not the best month for the wind conditions. I went fishing and exploring around the first few days: “Ok, I really like this place”. And then, the day arrived. Quite morning but good wind forecast. People walking on the beach, looking around, stretching their neck to look even further, waiting, waiting, waiting. And finally, some small whitecaps appeared: the wind is coming. The vibes changed immediately, everybody started to get ready, the excitement in the air. My time to try.

It didn’t take any longer, as soon as I started, I already fell in Love. And then even more day by day, improving and improving: “Ok, I LOVE this place”. I feel like I can no longer live without.

I’ve always been attracted to sport in contact with Nature, the freedom you can feel, the wind on your skin, the sun that warms up your face, the connection with the surroundings, the feeling, that feeling, of being exactly in the right place, in the right moment, nothing else matter, you are alive.

I’m so grateful that the wind of Life brought me here, surrounded by an amazing community of kitesurfers that share my vision of life, having the chance to kite almost every day, savoring the real taste of Life.

For all of you who have never tried, be careful, there is a high chance you will never be the same again.
